At year end 2006 since inception,
membership to the FOMD has raised over $142,000. Expenses to date
are approximately $51,000 or 36% of revenue leaving 64% of funds or
$91,000 in available for course improvements. In addition to the
many improvements financed and made possible by the FOMD the Friends
have advanced $60,000 to the State for the ongoing renovation. Our
2006 membership efforts brought in approximately $72,000 and our 2006
tournaments raised the additional $16,000.
The Gala - is our premier fund
raising venue and in 2006 $116,000 was raised at this event including a
$30,000 donation from Mike Bebon.
In addition, the NY State Department of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation advanced $50,000 to the
renovation budget and including the $30,000 donation from FOMD, the
Gala grossed $196,000. This $196,000 was against expenses of
$53,000, for a net $143,000 or 73% of total.
We also received many in-kind donations from FOMD members and the community.
From the beginning Diane Sheridan has
donated her expertise and talent for all FOMD design work. Dave
Brown has generously donated the new signage at the course. Robert
Padden donated and constructed the beautiful stone wall bordering the
3rd green. Frank Bistrian built the walkway over the creek
approaching the 13th green and the stair/ retaining wall bordering
the 14th tee box.
2007 projects from in-kind donations
include, Dave Brown's donation of new yardage signs for the driving
range and Paul Davis' donation of stairs from the back of the 14th
green to the back tees on 15. Other projects under consideration are
lightning shelters and an upgraded restroom on the course.
